User Administration and Standard
Users
The AS Java enables you to manage user data and authentication parameters using several tools. For an overview of the user management tools and a comparison of the functions and tools you can use for remote user administration during server runtime, see User Administration Tools.
Consistent with its open architecture, user classification on the AS Java follows group assignment and security policies. With the user administration tools for the AS Java, you can configure additional user types according to your authorization strategy and security needs.
For more information and
standard user types, see
User
Types.
The AS Java has an open service provider architecture for storing user data, whereby you can use multiple data sources for persistent user data stores. The data store access and user management functions on the AS Java are supported by the User Management Engine (UME). In turn, the UME can use different user data sources, including AS ABAP, LDAP directories or databases.
For a list of the standard
users and user groups on the AS Java, see
Standard
Users and
Standard User
Groups.
You can use the user administration tools of the AS Java to create additional users and user groups, according to your authentication and authorization priorities.
