You use the Add to Source Control dialog box to specify information about the development component that you are adding to the source control system from the local repository. When you add a development component to the source control system, it also automatically checks in all models in the development component.

You display the Add to Source Control dialog box by right-clicking a development component in the local repository and choosing Add to Source Control from the context menu.

The Add to Source Control dialog box contains the following items:

Description

Development component

Name of the development component being added to the source control system.

Software component

Software component in which to add the development component.

Vendor

Globally unique vendor ID. We recommend that you derive this ID from the vendor’s Internet domain (for example, sap.com).

Prefix

Prefix to use at the beginning of the development component name.

Activity description

Textual description that you want to include with the Add to Source Control operation.

When you click in this field, the Activity Description dialog box opens, in which you can enter the description.

Domain

ID of the development area for which the new development component is to be created.
