Procedure documentation Transporting ESR Content using the Client  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Transporting objects using the client enables users to transport, for example, small object sets of local software component versions, even without the authorization to access the server directories. SAP recommends that you transport larger sets of objects by using the server directories or Change Management Service.

Procedure

...

       1.      To import or export ESR content, call the ES Builder.

       2.      Call the context menu for a namespace or a software component version in the ES Builder navigation tree and choose Export or choose Tools Export Design Objects.

       3.      In the first step, select a source and then choose Transport Using File System. Select the Download File to Client option.

       4.      Follow the wizard’s instructions.

In the last step, the ES Builder queries in which directory on your local PC you want to save the binary export file with the suffix tpz.

Caution

Do not change the default file name of the export file. If you do, the ES Builder will not accept it as the appropriate file when you import.

       5.      Call the ES Builder of the target repository. Choose Tools Import Design Objects and then choose Client.

       6.      Select the export file on your local PC.
