After full installation, and before manual configuration, you can run the configuration wizard to initially set up your Services Registry. The configuration wizard saves you time and manual steps. You can use the Configuration Wizard to perform the following tasks:

  • Configuring a central Services Registry in your system landscape.

  • Optionally, you can set destinations for the UDDI server and classification service

You should perform this task only if you use a non-SAP UDDI server or have an older Visual Composer or AS ABAP release version in your system environment.

Procedure

Configuring a Central Services Registry
  1. On a NetWeaver system that you want to be able to connect to the central Services Registry, start the wizard-based configuration.

    More information: Configuration Wizard

  2. Choose All Configuration Tasks.

  3. In the task list, select Connection Configuration to Central Services Registry.

    1. Enter host name, port, user name, and password for the central Services Registry.

The user must be defined on the AS Java of the central Services Registry. UME user roles (SERVICES_REGISTRY_READ_WRITE or SERVICES_REGISTRY_READ_ONLY) for the Services Registry have to be assigned to this user.

    2. Choose Next.

      The wizard is executed.

  4. Choose Return to Task List.

Setting Destinations for the UDDI Server and Classification Service

Caution Caution

This is an optional task. You should perform it only if one or more of the following applies:

  • You use a non-SAP UDDI server.

  • You have an AS ABAP release in your system environment that is a lower version than 7.0 SP14 (for NetWeaver 7.0 versions) or 7.1 SP04 (for NetWeaver 7.1 and later versions).

  • You have an older version of Visual Composer.

Note that setting destinations for the UDDI server and classification service prevents you from using the role-based access control functionality.

End of the caution.
  1. On the NetWeaver system that you want to serve as central Services Registry, start the wizard-based configuration.

    More information: Configuration Wizard

  2. In the task list, select Services Registry Destination Creation.

  3. Choose Start.

    Note Note

To launch online help for a field, click the information icon where available.

    End of the note.
  4. Enter a user name and password for the destination to the UDDI server and the classification service.

UME roles UDDI_Admin and SERVICES_REGISTRY_READ_WRITE for the Services Registry have to be assigned to this user.

  5. Choose Next.

    The wizard is executed.

The logical destinations for the UDDI server (UDDI_DESTINATION) and the classification service (CLASSIFICATION_DESTINATION) are set.

Result

Access the central Services Registry using the following address: http://<hostname>:<port>/sr_central. Without configuring the Services Registry this address leads you to the Services Registry on your local AS Java.
