In short, there are the following different installation scenarios for the SAP NetWeaver Application Server.
You can run the following usage types to build your SAP System:
A system that
includes both AS usage types can run both Java and ABAP applications. For more

For large
installations with several SAP NetWeaver AS
instances, you can use the
SAP Web
Dispatcher, to have a defined access point for your system and to
implement load balancing.
You want to use
the SAP NetWeaver AS for Java applications in productive
