Procedure documentation Transporting ESR Content using the Server  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Prerequisites

To import and export ESR content (Enterprise Services Repository Content) using the server, you require the corresponding authorizations on the following directories of SAP NetWeaver AS.

Import and Export Directories

Type

ES Repository

Export

<systemdir>/xi/repository_server/export

Import

<systemdir>/xi/repository_server/import

<systemdir> is the system directory from the server installation.

Procedure

...

       1.      To import or export ESR content, call the ES Builder.

       2.      Call the context menu for a namespace or a software component version in the ES Builder navigation tree and choose Export or choose Tools Export Design Objects.

       3.      In the first step, select a source and then deselect Transport Using File System. Select the Download File to Client option.

       4.      Follow the wizard’s instructions.

The ES Builder saves a binary export file with the suffix tpz in the export directory of the repository server (see above).

Caution

Do not change the file name of the export file. If you do, the ES Builder will not accept it as the appropriate file when you import.

       5.      To import the export file(s) to another ES Repository, first copy or move it to the import directory of the target repository.

       6.      Call the ES Builder of the target repository. Choose Tools Import Design Objects and then choose Server.

       7.      Select the export file(s) saved in the import directory by using the dialog that is then displayed.

If the import is successful, the export files are moved to the subdirectory <serverdir>/xi/repository_server/importedFiles.
