An action is an operation that is performed when the conditions of a rule are satisfied. Every rule has one or more actions. In the rule editor, you add actions under the Then section.

Procedure

  1. Locate the ruleset (Where is my ruleset?) and double-click the ruleset node.

  2. In the Outline view, choose a rule node.

  3. In the rule editor that appears, under the Then section choose the Add icon and in the drop down menu, expand an action type node and choose an alias or definition.

    Note Note

    There are six action types:

    End of the note.
  4. Depending on the action type you choose, the syntax appears.

    Note Note

    You cannot change the action type once you have selected it.

  5. To edit values, choose the existing alias or definition and in the drop down menu choose an alternative definition or alias.

    You can also enter your desired value in the inline text box.

  6. Save the changes.
