Background documentationDesigning the Composite View Locate this document in the navigation structure

After you have created a model and composite view component, you can start to design it. The design process takes place on the Design board, and includes some or all of the following steps:

  • Discovering data services: You import the data services required as sources of information processed in the component. For more information, see Discovering Data Services.

  • Reusing components: You locate existing components to reuse them in your model. For more information, see Reusing Components.

  • Composing the composite view: You define the logic of the model by adding various model elements to the Design board and then define the information flow between the elements by connecting them and defining their input and output parameters. For more information, see Composing the Composite View.

  • Configuring the composite view: You configure each model element and connecting line, and define their attributes. For more information, see Configuring the Composite View.

Note Note

You also use the Design board to design the content, logic, and flow of a service component. Most of the information in the sections listed here also applies to service components.

End of the note.

After you have designed the composite view as described here, you can lay out the UI of the model elements. For more information, see Laying Out the UI.
