Procedure documentationAdding a Development Component or a Model to Source Control Locate this document in the navigation structure

When you finish creating a model in a local development component, you can add the model to a development component in a source control system, or you can add the entire local development component and its contents to a source control system. Adding a development component to a source control system automatically checks in all models in that development component.

Note Note

The development component name must be unique within the source control system.

End of the note.

After a development component and its models are added to the source control system, they are available to other users and version control is activated on them. For this reason, you should only add a local development component to the source control system when all models in that development component are ready to be checked in.

Procedure

  1. In the Manage Models task panel, in the local repository, right-click the development component or the model that you want to add to the source control system.

  2. From the context menu, choose Add to Source Control. The Add to Source Control or Add Model to Source Control dialog box is displayed and the XGL file is created.

  3. If you chose to add a model, from the Software component dropdown list, choose the software component to which you want to add the model.

  4. If you chose to add a model, from the Development component dropdown list, choose the development component to which you want to add the model.

  5. In the Activity Description field, enter a description and click Save.

  6. Click Save.

Result

The model and/or development component together with its contents are removed from the local repository and added to the source control system.
