Procedure documentationClassifying Services Locate this document in the navigation structure

This procedure enables you to classify service definitions using existing classification systems.

Use this function to classify third-party services you have published to the Services Registry.

You can find service definitions that match specific search criteria and choose which of them are to be classified.

The development infrastructures provide functions for classification of services modeled in the Enterprise Services Repository or developed on the AS ABAP or the AS Java. The classifications used in ES Repository, in AS ABAP, and AS Java derive from the central Services Registry to which the development environments are connected.

Prerequisites

For this function you need the SERVICES_REGISTRY_READ_WRITE user role.

Procedure

  1. In the Services Registry, choose the Classifications tab.

  2. Enter the name of the service under Find and choose Go.

    Note Note

If you do not know the exact name of the service definition, you can use wildcards to substitute part of the name. If you use a wildcard only, the search returns all service definitions available.

    End of the note.
  3. If you want to restrict the search to a WSDL Porttype Name, Internal Name or Free text, enter it under Search by.

  4. If you want to search for service definitions that are already classified, proceed as follows:

    1. Choose Show Advanced Search.

      All classification systems are displayed.

    2. Select a classification system.

All values of this system are displayed in the Values table.

    3. Select a value and choose Add.

You can select as many values as you wish. You can also select as many classification systems as you wish.

    4. Choose Go.

All service definitions that meet the specified criteria are displayed.

  5. Select the service definitions you want to classify and choose Classify Selected.

    All classification systems are displayed.

  6. Select a classification system and then a value for the system.

  7. Choose Add and Save.

The service is classified with the selected classification system and value.

Values and codes that were once added cannot then be deleted again because they can be an essential part of mass configuration, security profiles, and so on. If you do not want them to be used any longer, set them to Disabled.

Some classification systems you can only select once per service definition.
