You can create new classification systems and values and maintain existing ones.

It is not possible to delete classifications and values after they have been assigned to service definitions.

Manage your classification systems in the central Services Registry and connect all providing and consuming applications to this central Services Registry. Synchronize the classification systems in your test and productive Services Registry by using the UDDI import and export function for the classification service.

Prerequisites

For this function you need the user role SERVICES_REGISTRY_READ_WRITE.

Procedure

Creating a Classification System
  1. In Services Registry, select the Manage tab.

  2. Choose New.

  3. Enter the name and a description for the classification system.

  4. Choose the type Flat List or Hierarchy.

  5. If the classification system should not be edited after you have saved it, select Read Only.

  6. In the Applies to section select the development area to which the classification system applies.

  7. Choose Add Value. Enter a value code and a description.

    Once you add values and codes they cannot be deleted, since they can be an essential part of mass configuration, security profiles, and so on.

    If you do not want them to be used any longer, choose Disabled to select.

    To allow service definition to be assigned to only one classification system and value, select Categorize entities only once.

Groups Management

Groups management allows you to maintain group classification systems. You can create new group classification systems and values, edit them and delete existing ones.

  1. Choose Groups Management.

  2. Choose New to create a Group Classification System.

  3. Enter the name and description and choose Add Participant.

    You should select at least 2 of the existing classification systems.

  4. Save the group classification system.
