You use the Save As Local Copy dialog box to save a copy of a model or development component (together with its contents) in the local repository with a new name.
You display the Save As Local Copy dialog box for a model by choosing
. You display the Save As Local Copy dialog box for a development component by right-clicking the development component in the Manage task panel and choosing Save As from the context menu.You can save a copy of a model in different locations in the local repository, depending on where the original model is located:
If the original model resides in the local repository, you can save a copy only in the same development component
If the original model resides in the shared repository or in a source-control system, you can save a copy in any development component in the local repository.
For a model, the Save As Local Copy dialog box contains the following items:

The software component in the local repository in which to save the copy of the model. This option is only enabled when the source model is saved in the shared repository or source control system. The development component in the local repository in which to save the copy of the model. This option is only enabled when the source model is saved in the shared repository or source control system. If the original model resides in the local repository, this field displays the name of the development component in which it is located. |
