Description

Source control operations

Changed

You can now access source-control operations for the active model directly from the new Source Control menu option in the main menu or using the buttons in the main toolbar. In addition, the relevant source-control options are displayed in the context menus in the Manage Models task panel.

Create software component

New

You can now create a new software component in the shared repository directly from Visual Composer, using the Manage Models task panel. More information: Creating a New Software Component

Rename model and development component

New

You can now rename models and development components that are located in the local repository.

More information: Managing Models

Development component naming convention streamlined

Changed

The names of development components can now include slashes, in order to support segmentation. As a result, the prefix property (DC prefix) in the development-component file system is no longer in use. For development components created previously with the prefix, the segment is automatically added before the development-component name, followed by a slash (such as vendor/prefix/name).

Note Note

Development component names cannot end with reserved Web Dynpro suffixes, such as _impl, or name segments, such as _comp.

End of the note.

Save a copy of a development component in the local repository

New

You can now right-click any development component, choose Save As from the context menu, and create a copy of the component in the local repository.

More information: Saving a Copy of a Model or Development Component

Note Note

This feature is available in the browser version of Visual Composer only.

End of the note.

Import/export enhancements

Enhanced

A number of enhancements have been made to the import/export functionality, including:

  • A component can be imported into a development component with a different name than the one from which it was exported.

  • A component can be exported from any repository.

  • A single component can be exported (similar to performing a Save As operation).

  • A component can be exported either with or without its dependent components (even if they are located in a different development component).

  • A component can be exported without having to first open it.
