The Browse task panel displays a hierarchical tree of all the elements in your component. You can right-click an element in the tree to perform a variety of operations on it, for example, define actions, create an entry list, find references to it, and define its fields and controls.

The Browse task panel contains the following items:

Sort by

Specifies how the items in the element tree should be arranged. You can choose from the following options:

  • Index: Sorts the items in the tree according to their internal index (defined when each element was created).

  • Name: Sorts the items in the tree alphabetically according to their names.

Element tree

Displays a hierarchical representation of all the elements in your model. You can right-click an element in the tree and choose an item from the context menu to perform an operation on the selected item. For example, you can define an action or entry list, specify its properties, or find all references to the element.

Synchronize tree

Highlights the element currently selected on the Design or Layout board within the element tree. If necessary, also expands or collapses the relevant branches of the element tree to show the highlighted element.

Refresh

Updates the element tree with the latest changes from the workspace.
