Use

Creating the process template is the first step in the process design. Using this procedure, you create the framework, in which you can define process flow, roles, parameters, and so on.

Procedure

...

       1.      In the gallery, choose Create Process from the contextual navigation panel.

The process’ design time opens.

       2.      From the Original Language dropdown box, select English and choose Create.

       3.      You can overwrite the following default parameter values:

Parameter

Description

Name

Enter a meaningful name for the process template. It can be translated when the process template is internationalized. No restrictions are applied for the name.

Recommendation

If you want to expose your process template as a Web service or intend to use in environments other than the GP runtime, in the process template name, use only the following symbols:

[a-z, A-Z, 0-9, _] and Space. Use only lowercase Latin letters, uppercase Latin letters, digits, space and underscore. The process template name is used to create the Process Title.

The GP framework assigns a unique GUID to each process template, which is used to distinguish process templates in GP. Each template also has a technical name which is not unique and is used in exposing the process template as a Web service. GP automatically derives the technical name from the first (or initial) process title and during this process some symbols are replaced by others so that encoding is possible.

Therefore, we recommend you use unique process template names using the specified symbols, so that you can easily find your process in the WSDL file.

Description

Enter a description for the process template – for example, explain what is the result of the process.

Note

To provide relevant version-specific information or comments, you can use the Additional Info tab in the process’ design time once you have created it. Several rules and restrictions apply when you add or edit info:

·        You can add comments for the current version of any process template object in the gallery to which you have access.

·        You can only edit your own comments.

You cannot edit comments added for previous versions of the object.

Original Language

This field shows the language in which the process template is originally created. You choose the original language in Step 2 of the procedure.

Folder

Choose a folder to store the process template.

       4.      To complete the procedure, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text (Save).
