Procedure documentation Assigning Texts and Releasing Worklists  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You have to fill a worklist with text strings. You can then release it for translation.

Procedure

...

       1.      Choose Content Administration Portal Content Translation Translation Worklist Coordination and open the desired translation worklist.

       2.      In the Portal Catalog, right-click on individual objects whose text you want to add to the worklist and choose Add object to translation worklist.

You can add a folder and all the objects it contains to a worklist by right-clicking on the folder in the Portal Catalog and choosing Add all objects to translation worklist. The worklist with the list of all added objects is displayed. The worklist itself is also part of the list.

Note

Note that the text parts of the content objects, and not the content objects themselves, are added to the worklist.

Including dependent objects:

To extract dependent objects for translation, such as iViews within a page, objects within a role, or even all the objects in a business package, make sure that the value of the worklist property Resolve References is Yes.

Note

Dependent objects are not included in the default setting. If you want to include dependent objects, you can define a namespace filter so that only objects having a certain namespace prefix are added. If the worklist has a namespace prefix, it is automatically entered here.

Editing the worklist before generating translation data:

Prior to generating the translation data, the following buttons are available to enhance your ability to edit the worklist:

¡        Remove – deletes selected objects from the worklist (allows multiple)

¡        Properties – enables viewing the properties of a single object that is in the worklist (These properties can also be viewed from Portal Content by right-clicking the object and choosing Properties.)

¡        Object Preview – shows the selected object in a separate window

       3.      Click Generate Translation Data to extract the language data from the items in the worklist.

       4.      Release the worklist for translation.

The status of the worklist is now Released for Translation.

You can no longer add any more objects to the worklist. You can, however, cancel the release. To do so, choose Cancel. The status of the worklist reverts to New. You can again add objects, generate the worklist, and then release it for translation.

Result

You created a worklist that your translators can now translate. At the moment there is no built-in workflow, that is translators must be informed in the usual manner (for example with e-mail).
