Detailed Navigation 

Detailed navigation (DTN), an extension of top-level navigation (TLN), is displayed in the Detailed Navigation iView of the navigation panel, according to your role structure. The Detailed Navigation iView is assigned to the Desktop Innerpage as part of the Default Framework Page, and as such is part of the initial content shipped with the portal. The Detailed Navigation iView therefore appears automatically on each page that you call in the portal.

The content that is displayed in detailed navigation depends on the roles assigned to you and on how you configure your TLN. For more information, see Configuring Levels of Top-Level Navigation.

Configuring Detailed Navigation

Define your DTN through the property editor of the Detailed Navigation iView, which you access as follows:

Portal Catalog → Portal Content → Portal Users → Standard Portal Users → Default Framework Page → Desktop Innerpage → Detailed Naviagtion iView (com.sap.portal.detailedNavigationTree)
