Initial System Configuration 

 

This section describes the configuration tasks for the initial system setup, which you can perform after you have installed SAPNetWeaver CE application server (AS Java). Although the installation procedure provides a system that is ready to be run and used, you may need to configure the AS Java additionally to adapt the system to the needs and requirements of your business scenario.

Tasks

●      Wizard-Based Configuration – after full installation and before manual configuration, you can automatically configure your system by running the wizard-based configuration, which carries out the required basic configuration steps.

●      Clustering the AS Java – shows you how to choose the cluster setup that is most appropriate for the efficient performance of your system and further scale the system, if necessary, by installing Java instances or by adding server processes to an existing Java instance.

●      Viewing and Configuring the Communication Ports – describes how to view the system’s preconfigured set of communication ports and change them, if they are already in use by other programs.

●      Licensing the AS Java – guidelines on how to request and install a permanent SAP license for your system.

●      Configuring Security – provides information about configuring security and identity management functions that ensure authenticated access and protection of the system.

●      Configuring the Services Registry – describes how to configure the Services Registry (SR), which enables you to publish and discover Web services.
