Background documentation Navigation Modeling  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

There are various navigation aspects when developing WD applications: First, the sequence of view display needs to be determined. Second, the navigation between complete WD applications which have been integrated into the SAP NetWeaver Portal plays a central role. The procedure – whether to first determine the view navigation and second the application navigation, or vice versa – depends from the application itself; SAP recommends to start with the application modeling to optimize the navigation stream.

The navigation from one view to the next is performed using an outbound and an inbound plug which are connected by a navigation link. You can thus define the sequence in which the views of a WD application are called. The Navigation Modeler, a graphical WD tool, helps you with this task. If you would like to get support for data flow control, use the - also graphical - WD tool Data Modeler.
