The Web Dynpro tools allow you to perform a quick and simple project-specific search for metamodel objects. You can use this search to find

      Web Dynpro objects

      Model objects

      Dictionary objects

The search is carried out based on the development component definitions, that is, in projects with a connection to the NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI). Also the search result is displayed by project.

The table below shows the logical objects that you can carry out generic and wildcard searches for and display in the dialog box:

Prerequisites

Web Dynpro project has been imported into Developer Studio.

Procedure

       1.      Position the cursor anywhere in Web Dynpro Explorer.

       2.      Call the dialog box by choosing Ctrl + Shift + M to start the metaobject search. Alternatively, select the search icon in the icon bar.

       3.      You can start the search with the selection criteria Web Dynpro, the result list will contain all defined object types (from Application to Window) then. You also can restrict the search by selecting a single object type, such as Web Dynpro Component.

       4.      All metamodel objects contained in one of the Web Dynpro projects are displayed.

       5.      Scroll down the right-hand side of a complex list display to read all metaobjects. The object icons provide information about the object type in question.

       6.      In the result list, you can double-click an object to navigate to the assigned Web Dynpro tool, where the object is then displayed. If you double-click a Web Dynpro component, the Data Modeler tool starts. If you double-click a Web Dynpro view, the View Designer  tool starts. If the object in question is a model, the system indicates where it was defined in Web Dynpro Explorer. The qualifier (package) is also displayed for each metaobject.
