Configuring the Perspective 

The Enterprise Portal perspective requires information about the portal installation to upload a portal application to the portal.

Procedure

Adding or Removing the Plug-in Toolbar to the Developer Studio

...

       1.      From the menu path, choose Window  → Customize Perspective.

       2.      Select Other → SAP Portal Actions.

○       To add the toolbar, select the checkbox.

○       To remove the toolbar, deselect the checkbox.

Configuring Portals

...

       1.      Select the menu Window → Preferences → SAP Enterprise Portal.

       2.      Choose Add, and specify the properties of the portal.

       3.      If you want to store the password, choose Yes, I want to remember passwords for deployment.

       4.      If you want to set this portal installation as the default for deployment, select the checkbox in the Default field of the configuration list.

       5.      Click Apply.

Configuring Project Settings

...

       1.      Select the menu Window → Preferences → SAP Enterprise Portal  → Application Development Studio.

       2.      Select the checkboxes, as needed. The following describes the available checkboxes:

Automatically reference basic libraries required for portal development	Yes, I want the default libraries for each new plugin generated project
Specify that non-Java source files should be included in the generated JAR files	Yes, I want the non Java resources included in the portal components jars
Specify that generated JAR files should have shorter names, instead of <projectname>api.jar	Yes, I want short jar names in the par archive
