You use the Select Event dialog box to choose a predefined event that must be triggered to execute the action on the connecting line. You can also define whether the event should be triggered on its own, or together with other events of the same name.

You display the Select Event dialog box by selecting a connecting line with an event on the Design board and choosing Predefined events from the Event name dropdown list in the Configure task panel.

The Select Event dialog box contains the following items:

Item

Description

Event list

List of predefined events from which you can select an event to use for the connecting line.

Event scope

Defines the scope of the event, meaning whether the event is triggered on its own, or together with other events of the same name. The following scope options are available:

  • Source element: The event is triggered by the element from which the event line is drawn.

  • Any element: Adds an asterisk (*) to the event name. If any event of the same name (without an asterisk) is raised, this event is triggered as well.

You can also define this behavior type by adding an asterisk to any event name directly in the Event name field in the Configure task panel.
