Use

The corresponding repository manager has to provide the credentials for logging on to the remote server for all users that access the following repositories:

  • WebDAV repository
  • File system repository (based on WINDOWS )
  • Web repository (if you are using a Web server that supports permissions)
  • Archiving WebDAV repository (based on WINDOWS →)
  • Archiving file system repository

This information is read from the mapping data of the user who is trying to access the repository. When an index is created, this is the user of the index service service user. When a search is taking place, it is the user that is currently logged on to the portal.

Procedure

User Mapping for the index serviceService User

The mappings for the user used by the index service have to be made by the system administrator.

  1. Choose User Administration →Identity Management.
  2. Call up the settings for the index service user and enter the user to be used and the corresponding password for the WebDAV, Windows, or HTTP system. Choose Save.

User Mapping for the WebDAV, or Windows Users

Users can maintain their own mapping data in the portal.

Note

Inform users of how they carry out their user mapping using the portal.

  1. Choose Personalize from the portal header.
  2. Under User Mapping, select the WebDAV, Windows, or HTTP system, and enter your user and corresponding password (needed to access the remote system). Choose Save.
