Use

HADR Monitoring

You can use the new HADR screen to monitor the current and past status of standby databases including multiple standby databases with replay delay.

This screen is available for IBM DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows (DB2 for LUW) as of version 10.1.

Configuration History

The Configuration History screen was enhanced so that you can now also display changes to the database, buffer pools, partition groups, storage groups, and tablespaces.

This screen is available for DB2 for LUW as of version 10.1.

Support of Storage Groups in the Monitoring and Alerting Infrastructure (MAI)

If you use the monitoring and alerting infrastructure (MAI), you now also get alerts when the fill ratio of a storage group is too low.

I/O Metrics for the Local and Global Buffer Pool (pureScale)

On the following screens under Start of the navigation path Performance Next navigation step Snapshots End of the navigation path, you can now display I/O metrics for the local and global buffer pool of DB2 databases with the pureScale Feature:

  • Database

  • Buffer Pools

  • Tablespaces

  • Applications

  • SQL Cache

This information is available for DB2 for LUW as of version 10.1.

Data Consumption of SAP GUI History Screens

The following SAP GUI history screens can now also show history data collected by the data collection framework (DCF) if history data from the job sap_collector_for_perfmonitor is unavailable:

Collector Configuration

In previous releases and support packages, the Collector Configuration screen was available for the Web Dynpro user interface only. This screen is now also available for SAP GUI. You can use this screen to configure the data collectors for the DCF.

Screens for Tables and Indexes in SAP GUI

The following screens, which have been available for the Web Dynpro user interface in previous releases and support packages, are now also available for SAP GUI under Start of the navigation path Space Next navigation step Tables and Indexes End of the navigation path:

  • Top Space Consumers

  • REORG Candidates

  • Compression Status

  • Virtual Tables

  • Indexes

Monitoring of Memory Consumption

You can use the new Memory screen to monitor the current and past memory consumption of the database.

Self-Monitoring of the DBA Cockpit

If there are issues with the setup and infrastructure of the DBA Cockpit, error messages are displayed on the relevant screens.

Jobs in the DBA Planning Calendar

The new job Reduce High-Water Mark for Tablespaces can be regularly scheduled to reduce the high-water mark for tablespaces and to reclaim and return space to the file system.

This job is available for DB2 for LUW as of version 9.7.
