Configuring BPM-BW ConnectivityLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

To be able to extract data from processes modeled with SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management (BPM) and load the data in SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse, you need to connect both systems. You connect the BW system and the Application Server Java (AS Java) where the process model is deployed. The connectivity to BW is based on UDI (Universal Data Integration), which provides universal connectivity to BW.

To configure connectivity between the BPM and BW system, you create a TCP/IP RFC destination in the BW system and configure the SAP Java Resource Adapter (JRA) in the AS Java.

Prerequisites

You have created the necessary user for the BW system. For more information about users, see User Management on SAP Help Portal under Start of the navigation path http://help.sap.com Next navigation step SAP NetWeaver Next navigation step SAP NetWeaver 7.0/7.01 Next navigation step SAP Library Next navigation step SAP NetWeaver Library Next navigation step Administrator's Guide Next navigation step SAP NetWeaver Security Guide Next navigation step Security Guides for SAP NetWeaver According to Usage Types Next navigation step Security Guide for Usage Type BI Next navigation step Security Guide for SAP NetWeaver BI Next navigation step User Administration and Authentication Next navigation step User Management End of the navigation path.

Procedure

1. Create a Dedicated RFC Destination in the BW system

For more information, see Customizing for Business Warehouse under Start of the navigation path UDI Settings by Purpose Next navigation step UD Connect Settings Next navigation step Establish the RFC Destination for the J2EE Engine End of the navigation path.

To execute the described steps, you can use transaction SM59 in the BW system.

2. Configure the SAP JRA in the AS Java

  1. Open SAP NetWeaver Administrator using the following URL: http://<host>:<port>/nwa and log on with your credentials.

  2. Navigate to Start of the navigation path Configuration Management Next navigation step Infrastructure End of the navigation path and choose Application Resources .

  3. From the Show dropdown menu, select Resource Adapters and then from the Resource List select SAPJavaResourceAdapter15 .

  4. On the Properties tab page under Resource Details , specify the necessary details about the SAP JRA.

    Note

Make sure that the ProgramID value is the same as the one you defined for the RFC destination and enter the username and password of a user who can access the BW system.

  5. Choose the Save pushbutton.

Result

You have configured the connection between the BPM and BW systems. You can test the connection from the BW system.
