Adding Condition and Action ValuesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The cells of the decision table needs to be populated with corresponding values.

Procedure
  1. In the Rules Navigator view, expand the project node and select the ruleset or flow ruleset.

  2. Under the Decision Tables section, select the decision table and choose Open .

  3. Add condition values.

    1. In the context menu of the cell of a selected condition column, choose Add Condition Values .

    2. In the Add Condition Values dialog box that appears, enter as many values as you want.

    3. Choose Ok .

      Note
      • You can also select the cell and enter the value directly.

      • You can change the order of a condition value (up or down) by using the Move Up or Move Down option from the context menu of the condition value

  4. Add action values.

    1. Select the cell and enter the value.

    2. Press Enter .

      Note

      You can also use the advanced editor to add values.

      1. In the context menu of the action cell, choose Advanced Edit .

        The advanced editor opens below the cell.

      2. Add static or dynamic value.

        Adding a Static Value

        1. Choose the value and in the drop down menu, choose Set Static Value .

          An inline text box opens.

        2. Enter the value in the inline text box.

        Adding a Dynamic Value

        1. Choose the value and in the drop down menu, choose Set Dynamic Value .

        2. In the dialog box that appears, choose the dynamic value.

        3. Choose Apply .

    Note

    You can change the order of an action stub (right or left) by using the Move Right or Move Left option from the context menu of the action stub.

    Note

    You can easily locate the action values (for viewing or editing) of a specific condition by using the Show Perspective option from the context menu of the condition value.

    You can easily locate the action values (viewing or editing) of a specific horizontal condition by using the Show Perspective option from the context menu of the condition value.

Note

You can export a decision table as an excel sheet to your local system and make changes to the condition and action values. You can then import these changes to the decision table in rules manager. To export or import a decision table, choose the Export or Import button respectively.
