Before you start with your application integration, you should run a where-used list of the indexing interface IF_COM_SE_BUSOBJ and study some existing standard implementations of business objects.
If you are using the F4 search help concept for user interface integration, you should have a look at the search help definitions SFLIGHT_SES_QUICK and SFLIGHT_SES_ADVANCED (see Go and Create).
If you are going to create your own UI integration, you can run a where-used list of the ABAP method CL_COM_SE_SEARCH_IIF=>SEARCH_OBJECTS.
