Definition

In the portal, the user search function allows you to search for and identify system users (individual users, user groups, or roles).

Use

In the area of Knowledge Management and Collaboration, the search function is integrated in all iViews in which you have to search for and assign users. 

Depending on whether users should be able to select only one user or more than one user, the system automatically provides the version for searching for more than one user or the version for searching for one user:

  • Searching for more than one userFor example, selecting contacts in the Collaboration Launch Pad, selecting the recipients of an e-mail, selecting the participants for a meeting
  • Searching for one userFor example, selecting a new room owner

You can configure which attribute values for users can be entered and which attributes are relevant for the search function. See Configuration of the User Search Function .
