SAP NetWeaver Portal provides dedicated framework pages for use on touch-based mobile devices: smartphones and tablets.
Each mobile framework page includes the following components:
Home page
Launcher
Search bar
Toolbox
The mobile framework page provides a standard header. On the left side of the header there is a button that toggles between the Home page and the Launcher , and on the right side there is an action button. The action button enables you to perform various actions, such as refresh, add to favorites, and log off.
The Home page is the entry page for your portal on device implementation. The Home page displays one or more running applications, such as stock reports, weather reports, and RSS feeds. You can define more than one Home page, for different contexts, and move between these pages. For example, you can define one Home page for corporate information and another page for departmental data.
The Launcher contains applications that you can launch and folders that you can open, arranged in a grid layout. You can assign custom icons to the applications and folders. An application in the Launcher can be opened either in the portal content area, or in a new portal window. You can configure more than one Launcher , but their content is merged to display in a single Launcher .
You can use the search bar to type a string and display navigation suggestions as you type, according to your roles. You can add suggestions to your favorites. You can also use the search bar to search for text using a specific search provider. In the Smartphone Framework Page , you open the search bar using the small icon below the center of the header. In the Tablet Framework Page , you can configure whether to open the search bar from the header, or display it in the toolbox, which is the default location.
The toolbox is an overlaying list of launchable items, such as Favorites or Contacts, that you open (and close) using a tab on the left side of the mobile framework page. On a smartphone device, the toolbox is a single-level list, and the selected item displays in the content area. On a tablet device, you can also define items to open in an extended toolbox, that displays items in a second-level list, which is adjacent to the toolbox.
