Description

Transporting Non-ABAP Objects

New

The enhanced Change and Transport System enables you to transport Java objects and SAP-related non-ABAP applications in your system landscape, alongside ABAP objects.

You can also administer non-ABAP systems in a CTS transport domain in SAP NetWeaver Application Server for ABAP.

More information: Transporting Non-ABAP Objects in Change and Transport System

Transport Organizer Web UI

New

The Transport Organizer Web UI provides the functions that you require to handle and manage transport activities for non-ABAP objects.

More information: Transport Organizer Web UI

Change Management Services Available

New

If you are using the SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI), you can also perform transports using Change Management Services (CM Services). You can use the following services:

  • Configuration Service

  • Export Service

  • Import Service

  • Synchronize Service

  • History Service

More information: Using CM Services

Change Recording for Non-ABAP Applications

New

You can use change recording to record information about changes to development objects that have not yet been transported in the non-ABAP development systems of your system landscape and to manage changes.

More information: Change Recording for Non-ABAP Applications

Authorization Concept for Non-ABAP Systems

Enhanced

You can use new authorization objects to assign system-specific permission to users in the CTS environment, for example, for an import or to create a transport request. You can use predefined roles as templates here to make permission assignment easier.

More information: System-Specific Authorizations

Synchronization Between Transport Requests and Support Packages

New

When imprting transports of ABAP objects in the Transport Management System, the system determines whether the system status of the export system is the same (regarding release and Support Package level) at the time of the export as the system status of the import system before the import. If this is not the case, the system uses an appropriate icon to display this in the import queue. A warning message appears at the import.

More information: Import Queue: Legend and Starting Imports: Options

The Support Package Manager also indicates if the system status of the target system does not match the system status of the export system. Transport requests must be imported in this case before a support package can be imported. The Support Package Manager offers an option to navigate directly to the import queue of the Transport Management System.

Strategy Parameter

Enhanced

The parameter value WBO_GET_REQ_STRATEGY is provided for the parameter Create for closely coupled SAP applications - it ensures that the system always creates a new transport request when exporting an object and selects it as the default request.

File Transfer to Target System

Enhanced

The transfer of data from the CTS server to the target system can now be realized using a Java Connector connection.
