Mass maintenance of Web templates and reusable Web items enables you to automatically change multiple Web templates or reusable Web items at the same time. This allows you to export or import multiple objects (Web templates or reusable Web items) simultaneously and to execute simple replacement operations. Note that when you use this function, you can work with either Web templates or reusable Web items, but not both together.
The mass maintenance and conversion of Web templates and reusable Web items is a standard ABAP report that you can execute by specifying the report name.
To do this, in the menu bar of the SAP Easy Accessscreen, choose System → Services → Reporting (transaction SA38), and enter the report name RS_TEMPLATE_MASS_ALTER_70in the Program field.
You can only export and import Web templates or reusable Web items for Web templates that already exist. This also applies to reusable Web items.
The Mass Conversion of Web Templates or reusable Web items screen is divided into five areas:
In this area, you can specify whether you want to change Web templates or reusable Web items.
In this area, you can select the objects (Web templates or reusable Web items) that you want to change or export or import according to criteria such as role, name, or user name of the last person to change the object. Alternatively, you can specify a file with a list of the technical names of the objects.
When importing from the file system, you can specify a folder in which the objects to be imported are located.
In the Filter area, you can restrict the quantity of selected Web templates or reusable Web items again. The following restriction criteria are available for this purpose:
In this area, you specify whether and which operations are to be executed in the selected objects.
You can select one of the following options:
Select this option if you only want to export or import objects.
Data, such as role assignment, header information (such as language-dependent texts) and local chart settings, is not exported with the objects.
In this screen area, you specify where and how the output of the Web templates or reusable Web items is to take place. The following options are available:
We generally recommend that only very advanced users use this report for purposes other than importing and exporting.
Overwriting Web templates or reusable Web items can result in objects being changed extensively and irreversibly. You should therefore save the original objects before proceeding with automatic conversion. For more information about using this report, see SAP Note 710112.
