Messages and Alerts for Data Archiving Monitor

Use

Messages

Messages are used to inform you of important status information, such as that an archiving session started or a delete job finished; they do not require you do something.

Yellow Alerts

Yellow alerts are used to inform you that the write job has finished and the corresponding delete program must be executed. The "yellow alert" remains until the delete job is executed, either automatically or deleted. Use the alert browser in the alert monitor to determine if there are any open alerts left.

Red Alerts

Red alerts are used to inform you action is required. Red alerts for data archiving are used to tell you that, for example, an archive file cannot be opened, an archiving session cannot be started due to insufficient authorization, or there was an error creating a new archive file.

  1. Analyze the error by starting the analysis method in the alert browser.
  2. The affected jobs are displayed.

  3. Go to the job log and fix the error.
  4. Reschedule the job using transaction SARA.

The data archiving monitor does not monitor every error situation. If, for example, a job terminates due to a power outage, no alert is displayed in the data archiving monitor. However, you can analyze a terminated job using the Background Processing monitor in transaction RZ20.
