Creating a Mobile RoleLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • You are assigned the Content Admin role

Context

Portal on device comes with the Every User Mobile Role role. This section describes how to create your own mobile role.

Note

In the Role Editor, you can create a connection to a Web Page Composer page or area, and configure the connection for consumption by portal on device.

Procedure

  1. In the portal, navigate to Start of the navigation path Content Administration Next navigation step Portal Content Management End of the navigation path.
  2. In the Portal Catalog, create a folder to contain the role. For example, Mobile .
  3. In the context menu of the folder, choose Start of the navigation path New Next navigation step Role Next navigation step Freestyle Role End of the navigation path.
  4. Specify a name for the role, such as Mobile Role , and choose Finish .
  5. In the What's Next step, choose Content and Structure .

    The Role Editor opens.

  6. Choose Start of the navigation path New Next navigation step Page End of the navigation path.
  7. In the Page Properties step, specify a name for the page, such as Home Page , and choose Next .
  8. In the Page Template step, select Default Page Template , and choose Next .
  9. In the Page Layouts step, add the required layout.
  10. Choose Next and then Finish .
  11. In the What's Next step, choose Properties
  12. Configure the properties of the Home page as described in Configuring a Home Page .
  13. Save your changes.
  14. Select the Role tab, and choose Start of the navigation path New Next navigation step Folder End of the navigation path.
  15. Specify a name for the folder, such as Launcher , and choose OK .
  16. Select the Launcher and choose Open .
  17. In the All tab, choose Modify Properties .
  18. Configure the properties of the Launcher as described in Configuring the Launcher .
  19. Save your changes.
