Concept

You can prevent Excel files from being uploaded in Workspace Designer. If you have made any restrictions, the system installs the local Active-X Control (Active Component Framework) for uploading Excel and CSV files. If your browser does not support the Active Component Framework, then the framework will not be installed. It is still possible to upload CSV files.

This setting is useful if you are not authorized to install the local Active-X control on the client PC or if you use a browser other than Internet Explorer. The Active Component Framework (ACF) for loading Excel files can only be used together with Internet Explorer. If you use another browser, you cannot load any Excel files. In this case, you need to convert your Excel file into a CSV file before you upload it.
