Wiki Application for the Portal

New

A wiki application for integration in the portal is now available. It provides a comprehensive range of features and is particularly suitable for community scenarios.

Note

The wiki application is based on SAP NetWeaver but is not currently a part of the Support Package Stack (SPS) installation. It is included in the Portal Add-On available on SAP Service Marketplace. This means that the installation is optional and if you want to use the wiki application, you have to install it separately. For more information about the installation procedure, see SAP Note 1372623 Information published on SAP site.

The SAP Library contains the following information about the wiki application:

Wizard-Based Basic Configuration for Collaboration

New

You can work through most of the Collaboration basic configuration tasks automatically using the functional unit configuration tool.

For more information, see Wizard-Based Basic Configuration for Collaboration .

You can now use the new Knowledge Management and Collaboration (KMC) data archiving solution to archive rooms.

For more information, see Managing the Archiving of Collaboration Rooms .

User Search Function

New

A new search mechanism has been implemented and can be configured for the user search function. By default, the system uses the standard search mechanism of the User Management Engine (UME). The newly implemented possible search mechanism is based on the SAP NetWeaver Search and Classification engine (TREX). For more information, see Enabling the TREX Search Engine for the User Search Function .

People Picker Dropdown Box

Enhanced

The user search function in the details dialog has been enhanced. Now, users can specify the range of the search operation by choosing one of the following options:

  • All

The system performs a search through all existing users, groups, and roles.

  • Users

The system performs a search only through all existing users.

  • Groups

The system performs a search only through all existing groups.

  • Roles

  • Roles

The system performs a search only through all existing roles.

Room Risk Analysis

New

A report that displays and analyzes room statistics information has been implemented. You can search for rooms by the number of members, the size of documents and attachments contained in the room and the availability of locked documents.

For more information, see Analyzing Room Statistics Information .

Rooms Per User

New

A report that searches for rooms in which a valid user participates has been implemented.

For more information, see Checking the Number of Rooms per User .

Room Event Cleanup

New

A report that deletes all room events older than a specified period of time has been implemented.

For more information, see Deleting Old Room Events .

iView with Link for Calling the Member List

New

You can integrate the new RoomMemberListLauncher iView into room templates. This iView provides a link that users can use to call the member list.

For more information, see Providing an iView with a Link for Calling the Member List .

Embedding Room Parts in Room Templates

New

You can use the room part integrator extension to embed room parts in room templates.

For more information, see Embedding Room Parts in Room Templates .

Extension for Setting Room Properties in Templates

New

You use the new standard extension for creating room properties (room property writer) to create new room properties (also: room parameters) in room templates and to specify their values. When you create a room, the system generates the new property and determines the value from the definition in the configuration of the extension.

For more information, see Creating Room Properties in Templates .

Transferring Property Values to Rooms and Room Parts

New

As an administrator, you can transfer iView property values that you have changed in the worksets for the templates to the worksets for the rooms or room parts that are based on the templates in question. Changing rooms or room parts is restricted to individual areas of the company for security reasons. Therefore, you must have permission to use the templates in your area of responsibility. The permissions are defined in the master data for the templates.

For more information, see Transferring Changed Property Values to Rooms or Room Parts .

Secure (Simplified) HTML Editor (New)

New

The secure (simplified) HTML editor allows you to deactivate security-relevant editing functions, for example, inserting HTML text.

For more information, see HTML Editor .

Registration of Groups in the Room Member List

New

The user who creates or administrates a room (Admin iView) can add not only individual users but also groups to the member list. The addition of the group has the following effects:

  • Default behavior

Since the system does not automatically expand the group in the member list (the group is a single entry), subsequent changes in the group structure automatically affect the room member list. When registering a group in the member list and removing the group from the member list, the system sends the corresponding e-mail to the current group members. Users that are subsequently added to the group automatically receive the room role that is assigned to the group. If a user is removed from the group, the assignment to the room role also expires and with it the access permission for the room.

  • Optional behavior

The room administrator can expand the group using the appropriate option in the context menu. This creates a separate entry for each member in the member list. In this case, changes to the group do not affect the member list.

If users belong to more than one group in a room, their page permissions in the room are the sum of the room roles that are assigned to the individual groups.

Room Inventory Report

New

The report generates an inventory list of the rooms in the portal and provides the following information for each room:

  • Standard properties and custom properties

  • Information about members and usage frequency

  • Number of documents and size of the room content in bytes

In addition to displaying the report, the system also saves the inventory list in a CSV file. To improve system performance, you can switch off the calculation of the room content size.

For more information, see Displaying the Room Inventory List .

Discussions as Searchable Room Content

New

You can configure the search for room content in such a way that it also returns discussion groups and discussion posts in the results list.

To make sure that discussion groups and discussion posts from earlier releases meet the prerequisites for the search, you must use a report to check the data consistency of these objects and have the system correct them. You do this after upgrading your system.

For more information, see:

Deactivation of Invitation E-Mails in Rooms

New

The user who creates a room or manages the member list in a room can decide whether the system sends invitations by e-mail to newly-registered members. The indicator is located in the room creation wizard and below the member list in the Room Administration iView. This indicator is activated in the default setting and you can deactivate by clicking it.

Changing the Room Directory for Global Portals

New

To allow the use of rooms in a global portal (for example, in a supplier scenario), the following property has been added to the Room Directory iView (com.sap.netweaver.coll.RoomDirectory):

  • Property: Parameters to Pass from Page Request (for URL Isolation)

  • ID: com.sap.portal.reserved.iview.ParamList

  • Default value: Asterisk (*)

This property defines a set of URL-specific parameters that the system passes from the portal request object in question to the current page and its iViews when launching a portal page. For example, this allows the system to use the parameters to identify which supplier room directory the room is located in.

For more information, see Configuring the Room Directory Layout and Properties .
