Checking Security ZonesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The purpose of the security zone is to make sure that SAP NetWeaver Portal users access only the applications and services that are appropriate to their roles in the organization. Changes in the organization may cause changes to the security zone hierarchy, which may leave zones in the PCD that are no longer required. The Security Zones Checker scans portal content and displays unused security zones. To use the Security Zone Checker, use the following procedure.

Prerequisites

System administrator permissions

Procedure
  1. Navigate in the portal as follows: Start of the navigation path System Administration Next navigation step Support Next navigation step Portal Security Next navigation step Security Zones Checker End of the navigation path.

  2. Choose the Scan Security Zones link in the portal work area.

    If there are unused security zones, the portal displays each with its full PCD path.

  3. If unused security zones exist, remove them, one at a time, by choosing the relevant Delete Hierarchy button.
