This service enables documents to be processed according to their current status, for example, in approval workflows.
The state management service is included in the KM standard configuration. You can configure the following parameters of this service:
State Management Service Parameters
Parameter | Required | Description |
---|---|---|
Name |
Yes |
Name of state management service. |
Maximum Allowed Users |
Yes |
Specify the limitation for the maximum number of users that can be assigned to a single step in the approval workflow. If a limit is set for the maximum number of users assigned to a single step in an approval workflow, adding more users to the step when the limit is reached will be disallowed.
By default the Maximum Allowed Users parameter is 500 . The negative value (for example, -1 ) removes the limitation of users that can be assigned to a single step in the approval workflow. |
To check or change the configuration of the state management service, choose System Administration →System Configuration → Knowledge Management → Content Management → Repository Services → (Show Advanced Options) → State Management Service.
If you select this service in the configuration of a repository manager, you must also register the application property services (properties). The latter is required because the status management service stores application properties. You must also select a security manager for the repository manager.
If you want approvers to be able to give feedback explaining why a document is rejected, activate the feedback service (feedback) in the configuration of the repository manager.
