Configuring Advanced AuthorizationsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • You are familiar with the authorization concepts in the ES Repository. For more information, see Authorizations .

  • You have installed SAP NetWeaver 7.3 or higher version of ES Repository.

Context

In the ES Repository, you can assign advanced authorizations to users to execute actions other than the basic actions. The advanced actions include publishing service interfaces, updating underlying software component versions, modifying classifications, and so on.

Use this procedure to:

  • Migrate to or enable advanced permissions for users

  • Restore from advanced permissions to basic permissions

Note

When you enable advanced authorizations, the existing authorizations defined in the system is not lost.

Procedure

  1. Launch SAP NetWeaver Administrator using http:/<host><http port>/nwa .
  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Configuration Management  Next navigation step Scenarios Next navigation step Configuration Wizard End of the navigation path.
  3. Choose All Configuration Tasks .
  4. In the task list, select Configure Advanced Authorization for ESR and choose Start .

Results

After migrating from basic to advanced authorizations or vice versa, users can perform the same set of actions as before. This is because the system automatically generates these permissions for the users during migration. For information on how certain actions are handled when advanced authorizations are enabled, refer to SAP Note 1436061.
