Home Path Synchronization

This function is useful for test purposes. You can use it to manually create or delete home collections. SAP recommends that you carry out the actual Synchronization of Home Paths function from the application system. To do so, choose Synchronization of Home Paths from the Basis Customizing menu for your XML archiving object in the Application Server ABAP application. To do so for JAVA archiving sets , refer to the documentation specific to your archiving set.

You have called up the XML DAS Administration from within the SAP NetWeaver Administrator (NWA). (See Administration of the XML Data Archiving Service .)

1. In the Synchronize Home Path screen you can enter the necessary information for creating a new home collection , or delete an existing one. You must fill in the following information:
   • Home Path: If you want to create a new home path, enter one that does not exist yet. Make sure it begins and ends with /. If you want to delete a home path, enter the home path for the home collection you want to delete.
   • Action: Choose Insert a New Home Collection, or Delete Existing Home Collection, according to the action you wish to perform.
   • Context: Optional
   • Archive Store: Select one of the choices from the dropdown box.

     Selecting an archive store at this point is optional. You can also leave the space empty. In the Synchronize Home Path function creating or deleting home collections refers to the entries of the collection names in the database table. As long as you have not assigned an archive store to a specific home path, no actual collections or folders are created in the WebDAV or file system. If, however, you select an archive store here, the home path is automatically created in the WebDAV or file system, and it is assigned the archive store. This could mean that you are later limited in assigning other archive stores to sub collections under that home path. Once the home path has been assigned to an archive store, all sub collections of that home path will belong to the same archive store.

2. Choose Start.

   If you entered all the data correctly, you receive a success message.

   The home collection you created should now be visible in the hierarchy under the function Archive Hierarchy and Store Assignment .
