The Knowledge Management and Collaboration (KMC) arching object browser provides an overview of the KMC archiving objects that are taking part in the archiving process.
Using the archiving object browser, content administrators can:
Search for archiving objects that match certain criteria
View information about the status and retention period of the archiving objects
Administer the archiving objects
You have the Content Admin portal role assigned to your user.
The inbox service is active.
The archiving notification service is active.
The mark_for_archiving and archiving events are specified for the Allowed AdminNotifications parameter in the subscription service configuration. For more information, see: Subscription Service .
To search for KMC archiving objects that match certain criteria, view archiving-related information about objects and administer them, proceed as follows:
In the portal, navigate to
.The system opens the KMC archiving object browser in the content area of the portal desktop.
In the KMC archiving object browser, filter for the KMC archiving objects that match the required criteria.
You can filter the objects by owner, archiving status, and type.
By default, a valid entry for the Owner parameter field is the name of the relevant user as specified in the User Management. You can either enter the name of the user or search for a user using the people picker function. In some cases, however, you might need to filter by a user's unique ID, for example, if the relevant user has been deleted. To change the default configuration and enable filtering by unique ID, select the Owner as ID checkbox.
To search for all KM resource archiving objects in status Marked for archiving that are owned by a certain user, proceed as follows:
For the Owner parameter, select the required user name.
In the Archiving Status dropdown box, select Marked for archiving .
In the Type dropdown box, select Resource Archiving Object .
Choose Filter .
The system displays the list of all archiving objects that match the search criteria in a table which contains information about the name, type, owner, and retention period of the objects.
Optional: Perform the required archiving-related operations.
The allowed archiving operations depend on the archiving status of the objects. The following table lists the archiving operations and provides a mapping between the archiving statuses and the allowed operations.
