Creating a Local Development ComponentLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You have opened the Visual Composer perspective in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.

Context

This section describes how to create a development component in the local development configuration.

For more information about development components, see Understanding the Visual Composer DC Structure .

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path File Next navigation step New Next navigation step Visual Composer Development Component. End of the navigation path
  2. Select the Software Component (SC) to which you want to assign the DC.
  3. Choose Next.
  4. In the New Development Component window, specify the details as explained in the following table.

    Description

    Vendor

    Name of the component vendor

    Name

    A unique development component name

    More Information: Naming

    Caption

    Name by which you want to identify the DC in the visual tools

    Language

    Language you want to use to name the user interface elements of the DC

    Domain

    Development area of the new DC

    Support Component

    The support component to which you want to direct problem messages
  5. Choose Finish.

Results

The local development component is available in the model browser and cannot be added to source control.
