Use

You can carry out the following tasks in the Landscape area:

  • Monitor the system status
  • Configure a distributed TREX system
  • Display TREX configuration files
  • Display host-related and server-related information (for example, the availability of the TREX servers, the load on the operating system resources, and the installed TREX release)
  • Display and delete trace files
  • Execute a performance trace and save the result to a file
  • Configure the RFC connection to an SAP system

Features

The Landscape area consists of the following windows:

Window Description

Landscape: Alert

Used to monitor TREX. Checks are performed periodically, and in the event of errors the system administrator is informed by e-mail.

Landscape: Configuration

Enables the configuration of a distributed TREX system.

Landscape: Reorg

Allows reorganization of indexes.

Landscape: Tree

Depicts the content of the topology.ini configuration file as a tree structure. The configuration file is managed by the name server. It contains technical information about the TREX servers, indexes, and queues.

Caution

Only make changes here if those changes are specified in the TREX documentation.

Landscape: Ini

Displays the TREX configuration files.

You can display the content of the configuration files and change it if necessary.

Caution

Changing configuration files directly requires expert knowledge of the TREX architecture and TREX-internal processes. Only make direct changes to the configuration files if those changes are described in the TREX documentation.

Landscape: Hosts

Displays server-related information.

It shows the installation directory, the operating system platform, and the installed TREX release.

Landscape: Services

Displays server-related information such as the load on the TREX servers.

You can stop and start the TREX servers here.

Landscape: Trace

This tab page displays the trace files of the TREX servers.

By default, the trace files contain all error messages that the TREX servers output. You can display the content of a trace file by double-clicking it and delete trace files that you no longer need.

Landscape: Perf. Trace

Allows you to execute and save a performance trace.

Landscape: RFC

Allows you to configure the RFC connection to an SAP system. In addition, you can check the RFC connection status here.
