Automating the Import of Pending Transport PackagesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You have the System Administration portal role assigned to your user.

The scheduler service is activated.

Context

You can enable scheduling and automate the import of pending Knowledge Management (KM) transport packages. To do so, you schedule a task that checks for pending imports and automatically triggers the import with a predefined transport mode.

Procedure

  1. In the portal, navigate to Start of the navigation path System Administration Next navigation step System Configuration Next navigation step Knowledge Management Next navigation step Content Management Next navigation step Global Services Next navigation step Scheduler Tasks End of the navigation path.
  2. Choose Import Scheduler Task , and then choose Edit .
  3. Configure the parameters of the task as explained in the following table:

    Parameter

    Mandatory

    Description

    Task Name

    Yes

    Name of the task.

    Priority

    Yes

Specifies the priority for the processing of the task.

    Default Setting: 1

    CM Systems

    No

Specifies a Content Management (CM) system on which the task is executed.

In the case of a simple installation with only one CM system, you do not have to assign the only available CM system to the task. In the case of a cluster environment, you must assign only one system to the task. For more information, see: Scheduler Tasks .

    Time Table

    No

Specifies the time when the task is executed.

If required, you can specify other times when the tasks are to be carried out. For more information, see: Scheduler Times .

    Note

If you do not configure this parameter, the task cannot be started.

    Description

    No

    Description of the task.

    Import GUIDs

    No

Specifies whether or not to include the GUIDs in the import.

    Note

The GUIDs are imported only if you have chosen to include them in the export when creating the transport package. Otherwise, enabling this option does not impact the import.

    Import Mode

    Yes

    Specifies the import mode.

    Default setting: AddOnly

    Note

The Delete Conflicting Data First mode might lead to a loss of data if content is created directly on the target system in the folder that is being transported.

For more information about the import modes, see: Importing KM Content.
