Use

The following sections describe the different scenarios for the integration of BEx objects and BW objects into the portal (from the viewpoint of the administrators and authors of BEx objects and BW objects).

The explanations contain technical information that will make it easier for administrators to understand and make the necessary settings.

For authors of BEx objects and BW objects, the following sections contain the technical information required to implement the options described in Integration from the User's Viewpoint.

Features

The BEx and BW objects can be displayed in the portal in different ways. BEx Web applications can be included as iViews, precalculated documents or as links in the portal. You can also display BEx Analyzer workbooks and BW documents in the portal. More information: Display of BEx Objects and BW Objects in the Portal.

You can call these BEx objects and BW objects using portal roles or with KM folders in the portal. More information: Calling BEx Objects and BW Objects in the Portal.

Various tools support you in generating BEx objects and BW objects in the portal and integrating them into it. More information: Generating BEx Objects and BW Objects for the Portal.

Integrating BEx objects and BW objects into the portal requires experience of SAP NetWeaver BW, SAP BEx and SAP NetWeaver Portal. To make the necessary settings, administrators of the BW system and administrators of the portal must work closely together. Similarly, the authors responsible for BEx objects, BW objects and the portal content must also work together to integrate the BEx objects and BW objects into the portal.

For an overview of which options you have for integrating BEx objects and BW objects into the portal, see Overview: Integration and Display Types for BEx Objects and BW Objects.
