Use

The search services in the SAP NetWeaver Application Server (AS) ABAP form a framework to index and search for SAP business objects in SAP applications. The search services comprise the following components:

  • Embedded Search

    Applications use Embedded Search as the technology platform for basic searching for business objects using the TREX engine. Embedded Search is the Enterprise Search component in AS ABAP. In this context, the documentation for the applications may call it Enterprise Search (ABAP).

  • Search Engine Service

    You can use the search engine service (SES) to search for business objects in SAP applications (SAP ERP 6.0 or higher) using the TREX search engine.
