Using the Synchronize Service Locate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You have called the Synchronize Service. For this you have selected Start of the navigation path Related Links Next navigation step Synchronize Service End of the navigation path in Development Configuration Management .

Context

You use the Synchronize Service to compare software component versions in the runtime system with those in the development system and, if necessary, to adapt the development environment. It is no longer necessary to use an upload system and to create transport request manually.

Recommendation

If you use a development configuration with the runtime system, use the Synchronize Service instead of the Import Service.

Procedure

  1. Select the development configuration in the table Development Configurations whose software components you want to compare with the software components deployed on the NWDI.

In the System State table you can see which software components are contained in the selected development configuration and what differences there are in comparison with the runtime system and development environment.

    Note

Move the mouse pointer over the State and Difference column symbols for more information.

  2. Choose Continue .
  3. In the Inbox step, enter the path to the directory that contains all SCAs deployed on the runtime system and choose Continue .
  4. In the Synchronize Software Components table that is displayed in the Actions step, based on the differences that have been found, you are given different options for selecting (or, where necessary, recommended) every software component. In the Details column you get more detailed information on the selected actions.

Select an action for every software component and then choose Continue .

  5. In the Synchronize step, you see an overview of the entries that you have made.

If all entries are correct, choose Synchronize .

Check the import log after you have finished the synchronization.
