Configuring a Track for BPM DevelopmentLocate this document in the navigation structure

To successfully develop a specific type of technology, for example, BPM, you need to include a set of software components (SCs) in your track.

Prerequisites
  • You have set up and configured the System Landscape Directory (SLD) on your system.

  • You have set up and configured the SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI) on your system.

For more information, see Configuring the Development Infrastructure.

  • You have set up a new track for development. The track can be created with the Change Management Services (CM Services) of the Change and Transport System of the AS ABAP or using the Change Management System (CMS) for AS Java only systems.

For more information, see Setting Up Tracks Using the Configuration Template.

For all the above mentioned configurations, you can use the Configuration Wizard of SAP NetWeaver Administrator. For more information, see Configuration Wizard.

Import Required Software Components to New Track
You have to provide the required software components (SCs) for the concrete type of development in the track. To do that you have to import these SCs from the inbox of your Change Management System (CMS) to the newly configured track.
Note If you have used FRAMEWORK as a required SC in your SAP NetWeaver 7.2 configuration, the new configuration should include both FRAMEWORK and FRAMEWORK-EXT SCs. These SCs are required because the HTMLB location was changed from FRAMEWORK to FRAMEWORK-EXT SC.

For Business Process Management development, import the following SCs in the track:

  • BPEM-BUILDT
  • BPEM-CONTENT
  • COMP_BUILDT
  • CU-BASE-JAVA
  • CU-BASE-WD
  • DATA-MAPPING
  • ECM-CORE
  • ENGFACADE
  • ESCONF_BUILDT
  • ESMP_BUILDT
  • ESP_FRAMEWORK
  • FP-INFRA
  • FRAMEWORK
  • MOIN_BUILDT
  • SAP_BUILDT
  • SERVICE-COMP
  • THL-CORE
  • WD-RUNTIME

For information about the required SCs for development of other type of technology, for example, Business Rules management (BRM), see SAP Note 1457908 Information published on SAP site.
