Configuring a Connection to SAP NetWeaver GatewayLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 SP3 or higher.

  • You have the connection settings (host, port) to an SAP NetWeaver Gateway server.

  • You have user credentials for logging on to the SAP NetWeaver Gateway server.

Context

You configure the connection to an SAP NetWeaver Gateway host, by specifying the connection settings and the logon credentials of an Gateway user.

Note

SAP NetWeaver Gateway uses the SAP NetWeaver Destination service for authentication and single sign-on purposes.

Procedure

  1. In SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, choose Start of the navigation path Window Next navigation step Preferences End of the navigation path.
  2. In the Preferences window, choose Start of the navigation path SAP NetWeaver Gateway Next navigation step Connections End of the navigation path.

    The SAP NetWeaver Gateway Destinations dialog box appears.

  3. To create a new connection to an SAP NetWeaver Gateway host, choose Add .

    The Create SAP NetWeaver Gateway Connection dialog box appears.

  4. Enter the following settings for the connection to the SAP NetWeaver Gateway host:

    Description

    Use HTTPS (Certificate Required)

    Enables using a secure connection for authentication with the host. This option is selected by default.

    Note

    This option requires that Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is enabled in your SAP NetWeaver Gateway landscape.

    Connection Name

    The name of the connection. (Optional.)

    The default value is: (host:port) .

    Server Host

    The host name or IP address of the host.

    Server Port

    The port number of the host.

    Client

    The client number of the host. (Optional.)

    The default value is the default client number of the specified host name.

    User Name

    The user name for logging on to the host.

    Password

    The password for the user.

    Save Password

    Enables saving the logon credentials for subsequent logons to the specified host.

  5. Choose OK .
