Adding Overrides in a RuleLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

A ruleset may contain two rules whose goals are conflicting. This represents a decision point where only one of the rules is to be executed, even though condition in both rules have been satisfied. An override rule resolves conflicts by allowing you to specify which rule to execute and which to suppress. This rule is used when more than one rule is satisfied but actions of only a single rule should be fired, thereby overriding the execution of actions of the other satisfied rules. The override rule pertains only to rulesets.

Procedure

  1. In the Rules Navigator view, expand the project and select the ruleset.
  2. Under the Rules section, select the rule and choose Overrides .
  3. In the Overrides dialog box that appears, select the rules and choose Ok .

The Overrides column shows the rules which are to be overridden.
