Starting Extended Table MaintenanceLocate this document in the navigation structure

Procedure
Note

Extended table maintenance is normally started from within a transaction in your application area, so you should not have to use this procedure.

To start extended table maintenance from anywhere within the SAP system:

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path System Next navigation step Services Next navigation step Ext. Table Maint. End of the navigation path from any transaction in the system.

    The initial screen for extended table maintenance appears.

  2. In the Table/View field, enter the name of the table or view that you want to edit.

  3. Select one of the options in the Restrict Data Range Group. The following possibilities are available:

    • No Rentrictions: All data is read and displayed

    • Enter conditions: You can enter selection criteria if you do not need all of the entries in the table or view. (See also: Select by Contents)

    • Variant: You can enter a predefined variant, containing a data selection that meets your requirements.

  4. Choose one of the following:

    Display

    You go to display mode. You can only read the data from the table or view.

    Change

    You go to change mode. You can change the data in the table or view. These changes are logged in a transport request, depending on the system settings.

    Transport

    This function depends on the system settings.

    Use this function to transport modifications to elements in the table or view. A dialog box then appears in which you must specify a transport request. You then go to transport mode.

    Once you have done this, you will have branched to the maintenance transaction for the chosen table or view.
